VISION:  Our choices and actions are reflective of the awareness that human well-being and prosperity are fundamentally dependent on environmental health and ecological integrity.

This vision informs the essential elements of a sustainability course as described below:

 THE SUSTAINABILITY ATTRIBUTE

Sustainable solutions to the problems of climate change, resource limitation, and biodiversity loss, some of the most pressing and profound challenges of our time, are inherently interdisciplinary and must be communally achieved. Therefore, an “S” course is a course from any department or program that cultivates an awareness of human dependence on environmental integrity and includes an applied element that promotes healthy and resilient environmental systems.

“S” LEARNING OUTCOMES

S1: Demonstrate understanding of interconnectedness among human well-being, resilient economies, and environmental integrity.

S2: Apply your understanding of sustainability in a project that promotes ecological integrity on campus or beyond.
