The theme for the Class of 2012 Orientation this August is “Live Green Lafayette.” Summer reading for the class was Michael Pollan’s The Omnivore’s Dilemma, and the Corn on the Quad project is underway in conjunction with orientation and the summer reading assignment.

Orientation activities will include a waste-free picnic, in which all food, plates, cups, and napkins will be composted.  The convocation address will be delivered by four student leaders in LEAP, Lafayette Environmental Awareness and Protection: Daniel Goldberg ’09, Michael Adelman ’10, Daniella Colon ’10, and Jennifer Bell ’11.  At convocation, members of the class of 2014 will receive BPA-free nalgene bottles to encourage the use of reusable bottles as opposed to purchased bottled water.
