The Delaware River Basin Discussion Group will convene for the first time on Wednesday, October 27th at 4:10 pm in 108 Van Wickle Hall. Refreshments will be provided. The meeting will begin with a presentation  on “Dam Removal and Environmental History” by Professor DC Jackson. DC’s talk will not focus on the Delaware River, but serve as a backdrop for our consideration of issues in the Delaware.  After DC’s talk, we will have a discussion about how we want to proceed and where we might want to focus our immediate attention.

The Lafayette College Bookstore has ordered copies of the book Delaware Diary: Episodes in the Life of a River by Frank Dale. You may want to read chapters 16 and 17 in preparation for DC’s talk. Chapter 16 is about the Hurricanes Connie and Diane flood of ’55 and chapter 17 is about the Tock’s Island Dam project.
